Prayer for the Week (May 30-June 5, 2021)

Let us pray to God as the sons and daughters he dearly loves:
Father, you sent your Word to bring us truth and your Spirit
to make us holy. Through your Word, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit
we come to the mystery of your life. May we worship you,
one God in three persons, by proclaiming and living our faith in you.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who eternally dwells
with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever.
Amen.

Sunday Reflection (May 9, 2021)

We do not confess some vague God who may be this or that, or whatever
you want that God to be; rather, we confess the God to whom Jesus prayed through the Holy Spirit.
Through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit we approach God. The Holy Spirit leads us to focus upon Jesus Christ
who taught us about God the Father (Romans 8:12-17).

When you feel the tug to forgive in the hope of reconciliation and healing,
it is the Holy Spirit bearing witness to God’s presence in your life. In spite
of our distinction and difference from God, God’s love embraces us
and brings us into a relationship with God (John 3:16-21).
God challenges us to reach out to others as God reaches out to us
through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
